HyperSpermia Meaning

Hyperspermia is a condition in which in which the amount of sperms (released in a single) time increases. Sperms are also called semen. Usually the volume of sperms does not exceed 5.5 ml in a single ejaculation. But exceeding the volume of 5.5 ml indicates the presence of hyperspermia. It is a kind of medical problem which cannot be diagnosed easily because mostly men with hyperspermia think that it is a good sign of better health and ability to reproduce babies. If men continue ejaculating sperms with this volume in every sexual mating, then it may cause many problems like weakness, some fertility issues, poor erection (erectile dysfunction) and many more problems. Other problems related to hyperspermia are critical. Men experience large ejaculation volume at abnormal level.

Hypospermia is a term opposite to hyperspermia. In hypospermia, the volume of semen or sperms is not enough to reproduce babies. There may be many reasons behind hyperspermia and excessive production of sperms in the testicles. Testicles are the secondary sex glands which are responsible for production of semen. When a person does not have sex for a long time, and does not even masturbate, then there may be fluid buildup in testicles and leads to hyperspermia whenever he ejaculates sperms or semen.

In that case, the ejculated sperms or semen have maximum dead or disabled sperms. These are of no use and do not participate in reproduction. Increase in the volume of seminal fluid is another main cause of hyperspermia. Seminal fluid volume when increases, it dilutes the concentrated sperms or semen. This dilution causes problems in fertilization. In case, when the volume or amount of semen is equal to the volume or amount of sperms then there are increased chances of fertility. Men feel the strength to reproduce babies.

Hyperspermia Definition

Defining hyperspermia is a simple task because it is not a complicated medical condition. It can be defined as during sexual discharge, men experience increased amount of sperms in single ejaculation volume which more than or almost equal to the 5.5 ml. Most of the men consider it is a harmless medical disorder and there are no risks related to it. Usually men with hyperspermia experience less symptoms and feels good after ejaculating sperms. But infact this is not a good sign because patient feels weakness and fatigue after every discharge.

There are various risks and complications which may be experienced later. Patient face fertilization issues because of dead or disabled sperms. Sometimes men does not find it good to have a lot of volume of sperms because they feel irritation with thick and concentrated sperm release. Talking about symptoms of hyperspermia, initially it is asymptomatic and does not show any specific symptoms infact patient feels good. But with the passage of time or upon 2nd or 3rd ejaculation one after the other start inducing symptoms like discomfort and pain and irritation. Along with these he also experience mental disturbance after having thick concentrated ejaculation volume of sperms.

HyperSpermia Symptoms

Hyperspermia is a medical condition in which men experience increased volume of sperms in every ejaculation. The volume is either equal or more than 5.5 ml. This condition is considered harmless by many men but after some time or 3 to 4 ejaculations, patient starts experiencing some symptoms. Talking about the symptoms of hyperspermia, the main or common symptoms are described below.

Increased volume of sperms is the main symptom of hyperspermia. There is a limit of sperms or semen discharged in every sex encounter. The maximum limit of sperms in every ejaculation should be 6.3 ml i.e. 0.21 ounces. But if the volume of sperms exceed this level, then hyperspermia is confirmed.

There are some researchers who has defined another volume range of sperms. The range starts from 6 ml to 6.5 ml i.e. 0.2 to 0.22 ounces of sperms. This range of volume of sperms confirms hyperspermia.

  1. Patient takes long time for ejaculation. This is because of thick consistency of sperms or semen.
  2. When patient takes time for ejaculation, he may experience pain. It is hard for men to ejaculate a thick or concentrated volume of sperms. So it causes pain.
  3. After ejaculation of sperms, patient may feel weakness. After discharge, he may feel himself light and experience fatigue.
  4. Ejaculation of sperms make men tired. As increased time for ejaculation along with weakness and fatigue induces shortness of breath.
  5. Sometimes patient feels dizziness and tiredness after every discharge.
  6. After every sperm discharge, patient may experience a light volume of thin semen. This is the exact indication of presence of hyperspermia.
  7. People with hyperspermia have higher sexual desires as compared to other men who usually do sexual mating with their partners.
  8. These are the main symptoms of hyperspermia. Men experiencing all these symptoms should consult their doctor on time. As delay in treatment may worsen the condition.
  9. Patient with hyperspermia experience infertility. As people who don't do sexual mating with their partners usually, the sperms or semen start accumulating inside the testicles. A long term accumulation of sperms make them dead or disabled. These dead cells when ejaculated or discharged, will be no more functional. So these cells won't be able to fertilize egg and made the pregnancy difficult. This is the point of mental stress for men.
  10. The sexual organ of men i.e. penis, stretches and causes pain. Men with hyperspermia feels tightness in penis while ejaculation or discharge. This tightness is sometimes unbearable.
  11. Patient experience pain in back after every heavy ejaculation. Sometimes this pain is unbearable and patient may fall and get faint.
  12. If the color of sperms is yellowish it may be due to long term accumulation and this is the indication of presence of hyperspermia.
  13. Presence of thin semen at the end of every discharge, also indicates hyperspermia.
  14. Patient with hyperspermia experience errection problem. Erectile dysfunction is observed sometimes because of poor errection.
  15. Another problem experienced by patients is of impotence. There are possibles of male impotence and some other similar problems.

HyperSpermia Causes

Hyperspermia is a condition in which the volume of sperms increase up to an abnormal level upon every ejaculation. There is an upper limit i.e. 5.5 ml, if the volume of sperms or semen crosses this limit in single ejaculation , it indicates the presence of hyperspermia. Hyperspermia might be pathophysiological condition and a rare one. There is a range of volume of sperms i.e. 6 ml to 6.5 ml which is equals to 0.2 to 0.22 fluid ounce. When volume exceeds this upper limit of range, it indicates the presence of hyperspermia. It cannot be diagnosed in a single ejaculation, because repetitive ejaculation if increased volume of sperms or semen indicates hyperspermia. There are various factors which are responsible for causing hyperspermia. Some of the main causes are described below;

Men who use devices to boost up their sexual activity may develop hyperspermia with the passage of time. These devices boost up the sexual activity but make the sperm non functional.
There are some drugs which are used to increase stamina of sexual activity. But these drugs induce hyperspermia in men. It may also be an adverse effect of these boosting drugs. These drugs act by thinning the sperms and semen but this thinning in turn increases the volume of sperms and leads to hyperspermia.

Other than drugs, there are some treatments and surgeries which may also induce hyperspermia in men. We can say that hyperspermia is the side effect of various treatments and surgeries.
Consumption of steroids with high potency are also responsible for causing hyperspermia.
Taking protein diet in increased amount is another factor which increases production of sperms and semen in men. This increased production leads to accumulation of sperms and semen in testicles and leads to hyperspermia.

Taking diet which is Rich in fiber and nutrients cause hyperspermia. Because this kind of diet increases production of sperms in men. And increased production leads to accumulation and in turn causes hyperspermia.

There is another cause which depends upon the gap between sexual activity. As increased gap between sexual activity leads to accumulation of sperms in men and when they do any sexual act, the increased volume of sperms discharges in single ejaculation.

All the above mentioned factors help a lot in understanding the hyperspermia. All the treatment options which are recommended to treat hyperspermia are selected according to the cause behind it.
All these causes can individually or collectively may cause hyperspermia. Collectively in a way as if person is taking drugs for sexual boost up but also don't have any sexual activity, so both of these conditions will lead to hyperspermia. In most instances this condition resolve on its own and does not require any therapeutic treatment. If this condition is happening due to steroidal drugs then reversal of steroids is necessary to have normal ejaculation volume.
